Upper Crust Bakery Opening 2nd Location in OP

As reported by the KC Star, the Upper Crust Bakery that operates out of Pryde's in Westport is opening a second location out in Overland Park.  Here is that story courtesy of Joyce Smith.

Upper Crust bakery coming to Overland Park

The Upper Crust, a specialty bakery that operates in Pryde’s Old Westport, is opening another retail location.
Sisters and bakery owners Jan Knobel and Elaine Van Buskirk are taking a space at 7943 Santa Drive, Overland Park, for an early November opening.

“We needed more space for a larger production area. Last Thanksgiving we had to turn customers away,” Knobel said

They started the business by selling their pies under a tent at the Downtown Overland Park’s farmers’ market. Six years ago they opened a space in Pryde’s at 115 Westport Road.

The shop sells such pies as French Apple, blueberry, blackberry, peach, strawberry-rhubarb, butterscotch meringue, and chocolate cream/meringue, as well as seasonal and specialty pies, and cookies.
